Here’s a Clue; It’s easy to say, but not so easy to do.
A lot of well known people have coined their own version of what our thoughts can do, and they have offered their opinion of what other people should be doing, or thinking …. or not doing or thinking. Are they onto something?
It’s a really good possibility.
Every thought we have carries some significance, whether we realize that at the time or not. Some people might question, at times, the impact of their thoughts. But, they only need to look around themselves to see the differences in people, and how their attitudes, body languages, physical appearances all change depending on what they are focusing on at that moment.
There are people with crap attitudes all around, you might even know some people like that, and have no choice to be around them on almost a daily basis. Now maybe you have be present in the same spot, but you don’t need to be present in their negative world. I know it’s hard, believe me, I just choose “joy” over anything else, and I see people choosing to be miserable all the time. You could try to talk with them, and try to change their attitude, but believe me, it probably isn’t the best choice. Just ask them, they’ll probably tell you “Somebody has to be the victim”, someone has to have the bad luck….. it’s just not me!!
One way to get your mind going in the right direction is what Emmet Fox developed and named the “Mental Diet”. Just like people who want to get rid of some extra weight through diet and exercise, Fox teaches us how we can put our mind on a diet. By eliminating the things we don’t want, the things that keep us from our goal (like that cheese burger and fries, or the dish of ice cream) we can keep the negative thoughts out of our minds, thereby creating the positive mental attitude we need to move forward.
It’s all about choices, just choose to do it, and do it now!
The journey continues, you can follow along right here.
